Welcome from Chief Zim Schwartze
On behalf of the entire Missouri Capitol Police team, welcome! We are proud to protect and serve at our seat of government in beautiful Jefferson City, Mo. Missouri Capitol Police is a full-service law enforcement agency with responsibility for safety and security across the 72-acre Capitol Complex and all state owned/leased buildings in Cole County. We are committed to protecting and serving all who work in, or visit Missouri state government with fairness, professionalism and integrity.
Our unique community includes statewide elected officials, legislators, nearly 18,000 state team members and all who come to the Capitol Complex and state buildings to transact business or simply learn about our rich history. Visitors will find us most visible in the three-acre Capitol Building overlooking the Missouri River in downtown Jefferson City. Our officers patrol the Capitol Complex and state buildings in Cole County 24/7 and have specialized training in executive protection, facility security and community policing. Partnerships are vitally important to the safety of our community and we routinely collaborate with other state, local and federal law enforcement agencies as well as the public.
Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions at our MCP Headquarters (573) 751-2764 or cpinfo@dps.mo.gov.
